An Engaging, Personal Account of WWII

Since I released my first book Islands of Deception in 2023, I have met a lot of authors who share the love of the craft of writing. This year I’m trying to block out more time to read the stack of books I’ve collected from these authors and share them with you.

Last fall I met Luise Bolleber who released her first book last August, One War Ago. It’s a fascinating story about her father’s World War II journey from Europe to America.

It’s a very different perspective from other WWII accounts I’ve read that makes you consider the cost of war to the average citizen. Luise takes you through the personal struggles that her father experienced before, during and after WWII. The addition of facts about the times also adds to the insight on how the war disrupted so many lives for generations.

If you’re looking for something to read during these winter months, I recommend her book.
