Having Words With You

Words. They come in all shapes and sizes. Together they create an adventure, evoke an emotion, draw out a tear, or share a memory. Words are like puzzle pieces in a box until they are joined to create an image of life.

Words can change history. Sentences can move people. Paragraphs can form the basis for a nation. Pages and chapters create books that can educate or entertain. Words are life shared, emotions flowing from the deep recesses of ourselves, poured out to others.

The unspoken word can sometimes be just as effective. Feelings deep inside that words can’t describe. Facial expressions that say more than any word could possibly express. Eyes that say what no mouth can speak.

The letters that come together to form words. The words that come together to form sentences. The sentences that come together to form paragraphs, pages and books. Together they can divide or bring us together. Words have power. Be careful how you use them.

  1. Thanks, Chris. You’re helping us see the opportunity to shape the lives of young and old with our words. This applies to everyone, but it’s especially important for parents and writers.
